Well, it is T H A N K S G I V I N G, and therefore (most) of the links today are Thanksgiving-themed. Please feel free to share them at the table (including mine).
Astronauts on the ISS are celebrating a dehydrated Thanksgiving dinner, which should remind you that it is someone's job to figure out how to make dehydrated Thanksgiving food. Also:
The first Thanksgiving in space took place aboard the United States' first space station, Skylab, on Nov. 22, 1973, and was marked by American astronauts Jerry Carr, Bill Pogue and Ed Gibson. On that first extraterrestrial Thanksgiving, the astronauts did not get the day off.
A few years ago The National covered Linda Belcher's Thanksgiving Song from Bob's Burgers. They did an amazing job. Last year, they did another song from Bob's Burgers (watch the original here), and no one told about me about it, which is a goddamn shame. So here you all go.
Here is a french bulldog playing with a water fountain. This has nothing to do with Thanksgiving.
What do you have to look forward to for the next few days? Well, the new Star THE FORCE AWAKENS Wars trailer is out on Friday. There are some fake trailers online, I was completely fooled by them and was SHARPLY CORRECTED. Know that I stand strong for you, dear readers.
I am thankful for all of you for following me on my silly journey these past few weeks! Here's to many more to come. And finally, please take some time today to donate to the Ferguson Public Library, the St Louis Food Bank, and the Ferguson Defense Fund. They're doing incredible, laudable work.
"Libraries, by default, usually are a safe space. Much of what we did was just continue to operate normally, staying open and offering services while letting the community know we were there for them." -the sole librarian at the Ferguson Public Library
