internet explorers club | state of the reactions to the state of the union

FRIENDS. The State of the Union was last night, which means that I will proceed by not discussing the actual content of the speech but merely reactions.

What's neat is that someone put together a thing where you can select any word out of the State of the Union and it will show you how many times each president used it in THEIR States of the Union. Pretty cool, though it combines words with em dashes, which means that for those of us searching for "apprenticeships" (of course I was who am I?) the data was a bit flawed.

The New York Post, on the other hand, decided this headline was definitely the one to go with:

Speaking of Actual Teens, there's been a lot of conversation about How They View Social Media, and Rusty Foster pretty much sums up how we all think about it. If that isn't quite enough, this is a great actual piece criticizing the lack of acknowledgement of privilege inherent in some of the pieces

Mallory Ortberg (forever may she reign) has done a pretty good overview of my feelings on Black Mirror (I heard it gets better, sure OK, fine).

Overstock.com is apparently creating VOD streaming content, which The Onion predicted in 2013, which means in a few years we'll find out the CIA actually was using black highlighters all along.

I'll just leave this here:

Etcetera: All Jolene All The Time (15 versions!). Draco was sorted into Gryffindor.
