internet explorers club | twitter tricks + urban design, together at last

Longtime fans of my gchat conversations will know that I love things that play around with Twitter. Whether or not this is a bot that mashes up two headlines from the news, or a script that changes Twitter names in responses to @s, I dig 'em. So I'm excited that someone is playing around with creating a Choose Your Own Adventure Game on Twitter:

Also allow this to be the time when you look back at what the Baltimore Sun said were the "Top 10 developments in cyberspace" in 1995. Key highlights are references to the "infobahn" and "'Myst': It's the multimedia game everybody's talking about."
While we're talking about the Internet, here's a piece about The Onion's art department, detailing how they create all the imagery for individual articles. Also, as inscrutable as it may seem, apparently Lego Crime is A Thing. Stolen Legos are as untraceable as cash (apparently!)

Switching gears to urban history news, some folks went into an abandoned trolley station below DuPont Circle and filmed it. I would say I want to explore too, but I think I've played too much Fallout 3 to go into the DC subway system not prepared to find zombies.
Someone also researched the history and art of sound walls on freeways, which is actually completely fascinating -- it started from noise reports from movie studios and the Hollywood Bowl, and then talks about how designers have to create designs that are interesting, but not distracting to drivers.

Etcetera: Oh right, the Oscars nominations are out! Please RSVP for my party.
